Whooohooo, House-cation!

Hello, fellow book junkies!  It’s amazing how much better regular exercise makes me feel, both in body and soul. Last week I finally started going for walks again for 20-30 minutes each night. The solitude of walking alone is nice, but it’s even more fun when a family member or neighbor tags along. Last Friday there were four of us chatting and enjoying the night air.

But that’s not the only reason I’m in a good mood. . .

#1 It’s Friday!!

#2 I won an ARC I’ve been really looking forward to reading: And I Darken by Kiersten White. This dark historical fantasy set in the age of the Ottoman Empire is getting all kinds of great reviews.

#2 House-cation!! With my lovely family out of town for a few days, I’ll get the house all to myself. Yes, it might get a bit lonely, but I’ll have my dogs, cats, and lovely online friends like you for company. I can watch any TV show I want (we’re a one TV household), get lots of writing and reading done, and yeah, pretty much do whatever I want.

Suffice to say, you’ll probably be seeing me around more over the next couple of days. 🙂

  1. We really can’t underestimate the value of regular exercise. I used to work out and run almost every day for the second half of last year. I have slipped and don’t that very much anymore 😕 And I can definitely notice a slight difference in my mood and energy. I still try to eat well, but exercise is perhaps more important.

I love house-cations! I will have my very own next weekend. I cannot wait to catch up on my reading and write up future blog posts. Enjoy your weekend 😀

  2. Yeah to you having some time by yourself! Are you bored yet?!!😀😀 I thought we were the only family with only one TV set in the house! Glad we’re not alone. I must say though that the younger generation barely seems to watch TV these days…enjoy yourself now!

    • So true! Most of the people I know in their 20s or younger watch everything on their computers and cell phones. TV? What’s that? Haven’t experienced a lick of boredom yet this weekend. However, I did get a little lonely last night, so I went out to dinner with a friend. How have things been with you? How’s your writing coming along?
