Hello, and welcome to my 100th blog post! Apparently, on 100 different occasions over the past ten months I have attempted to come up with something worthwhile to say in this blog. The shocker is that sometimes other people read and comment, which makes me happy. Thank you!
What I’ve Been Up to:
Well, I’ve been blogging a lot lately about reading YA books but haven’t talked as much about books I’m writing. For the record, writing is going well. I’m working on a dark, modern YA fantasy that I’m pretty excited about. Ideas are brewing, the main characters have life (if not set-in-stone names yet), and plotting is about 50% complete. I look forward to sharing more with you about this new novel-baby as it grows and decides what it wants to be.

I recently started Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines (which unfortunately suffered some water damage) and I am reaaaaally enjoying it. The character work and worldbuilding is fascinating.

Let’s see. . . Casquette Girls and The Night Circus were enjoyable in completely different ways, but the most recent AMAZING read was A Darker Shade of Magic. Yep, am now a die-hard fan of V.E. Schwab.

Water damage, ugh. Due to water damage (and it honestly wasn’t that bad) I recently had to pay $30 to replace a library book. Now, whenever I leave the house with a book, it goes into a gallon-size Ziploc bag.

LMAO I’d probably have forgotten it was on my shelves, thought about it randomly one day, considered picking it up, and then put it back to start the process all over again–which means I’d NEVER have gotten around to it!
