Directions: Mark an ‘x’ for each statement that applies to you.
[ ] 1. In lines or at doctor’s offices, when everyone else around me is tapping out messages on their cell phones, my face is buried in a book.
[ ] 2. If a novel I’m reading has a plot twist I wholeheartedly disagree with, I will complain, out loud, to my book.
[ ] 3. When I discover a new book I’d like to read, the first thing I do is to list it as “want to read” on Goodreads. Then I blog about it. 🙂
[ ] 4. If I reach for a book, my household pets jump onto my favorite reading chair.
[ ] 5. My favorite historical figure is Booker T. Washington.
[ ] 6. When I meet new people, the first question I ask is, “What kinds of books do you like to read?”
[ ] 7. The only thing better than buying new books is when someone reads—and likes—a book I’ve recommended to them.
[ ] 8. The phrase “’book’ an appointment” confuses me.
[ ] 9. If I see someone mistreating a book, I will shield it with my body.
[ ] 10. I read posts entitled “How to Tell if You’re a Book Junkie.”
If you marked ONE OR MORE of the above boxes, you are a bookie junkie and are hereby awarded this badge. Wear it with pride. 🙂
Happy reading!

Fun post! And I definitely checked more than one… I had a very impatient mechanic pounding on my window this morning as I got my oil changed, and didn’t hear him ask me to start the car… 🙂

Thanks, Stefanie! That’s hilarious about what happened with the mechanic–a great item to add to the book junkie list. 🙂

I live by this awesome place that does quick oil changes … It almost makes me sad, because I’d rather have an excuse to sit for 45 minutes so I could read!!

I know! When you only can grab 10-15 mins, you feel cheated… I never mind waiting for an appt when I have a book!

No way. I didn’t realize it until you mentioned it but–for the very reason you stated–I sometimes LIKE when there’s wait.

Lmao this is GREAT, Eve…and I think I checked every single box. I either have serious commitment or serious issues? Depending who you ask you might get both in a minute span! LOVE this–I need to put this pin on my forehead!

Right, Beth? LOL, the badge is adhesive, but if you WANT to pin it to your forehead . . . 😉

Reminded me of when I was at a Bachelor Party in Las Vegas, standing in the kitchen trying to finish a crime novel.

Hiding out with a book at a bachelor party definitely qualifies you for book junkie status, Dale. I’m in awe.

Based on # 9, I think you and my husband could be best friends 🙂 I don’t like books mistreated but I do like to write in them. To me, that is not mistreating…but to some it is a big offense!

Please tell your husband from me that if you own the books, jotting notes in them is absolutely permitted, in fact, encouraged.

LMAO, Annika, you just reminded me that I want to post a progress update on Goodreads about a book I’m reading. We’re hopeless…in the best way. 😀

This test seems more like a trap! One or more?! That’s like asking someone if they breathe or not. Psh! I was expecting it to be like… five or more, but apparently I am grouped in with these ‘book junkies’ of which you speak. Yet, I don’t feel that I should be lumped together with these… these… ADDICTS! How dare you, Eve!

I just about died laughing at this. FANTASTICO list! I checked all but 4,5, and 8. I have no idea who Booker T. Washington is…

Thanks, Amy! Booker T. was a writer and political figure from the 1900s–I had to include him because “Book” is in his name. 🙂

Alright, Tunisia. now It’s your turn to come up with a music junkie questionnaire. I want to take it and see how much of a music junkie I am. 🙂

Lol I was thinking that. I’ll see if I can cook something up. If I do, I’ll definitely make sure to give you credit for the inspiration.
